With a medium body, high acidity and firm tannins, Chianti Classico hails from the premium Classico region of Tuscany.
Unlike normal Chianti, Classico versions are often aged in oak for as long as three years, and can shelf for as many as ten. Entirely fermented Sangiovese grapes, tart cherry, red plum, strawberries and fig combined with the earthy and smoky aromas make the palate very lively.
This Chianti Classico is best enjoyed with wild game, lamb, veal cutlets, or flavourful pasta.
