Grown in the chalky soils of Oyón at an altitude of 450m above sea level, the grapes used for this wine (comprising of 91% Tempranillo and 9% Carriginon), underwent a controlled fermentation at 28°C, then spent 17 months in American oak barrels, and 2 years bottle aging, where it gains complexity and structure.
This wine has a clean, bright red cherry colour, with a garnet rim. A farmyard fragrance, and flavours of red fruits come together effortlessly with racy acidity and tannins. These are softened and married together by a 17 month oak aging, followed by 2 year aging in the bottle. This well loved Rioja is a velvety wine with richness and spice on the finish. Its soft fruit makes it easy to drink and the wine is brilliant with lamb, pork and rich poultry dishes.
